‘Relax’ takes inspiration from a Chaise Lounge and draws upon the aesthetics of mid-century furniture design. The dysfunctional design and distortion of form is a response to the physical awkwardness of public interaction. It’s an invitation to relax and a reminder of the impossibility to do so. The faux leather cushion is an enhancement of this theme.

On a wider perspective it is an exploration into the displacement of objects within architectural spaces considering how environment influences perception and response.
